Custom Design vs. Made To Order: What's the Difference?

Hey, so you love unique, handcrafted hats? Awesome, me too! Let's break down what makes Suzette Art Couture Custom Design and Made To Order different:

  1. Custom Design Service: This is where we dive deep into creating something just for you. We'll talk about what you want, your event, and everything else to really understand your hat needs. I'll design and make your hat myself, making sure it's perfect for your style.

  2. Made To Order: This is for when you spot a hat design from my collections that you really like and want it made to fit you. We won't change the design much, except maybe the color, size, or some materials. Most designs can be tweaked a bit, but some special vintage or one-off pieces can't be changed much.

So, whether you want something totally unique or a hat from my collection that's just your size, I've got you covered!

Easy Steps to Your Custom Hat

Want a unique hat, different from our regular collection? Here's a simple guide to get your custom hat:

  1. Virtual Chat: First, we'll have a virtual meeting. Here, you can tell me about the hat you're dreaming of, your outfit, any hairstyles you like, and accessories you've already got.

  2. Creating Your Style Board: After our chat, I'll put together a style board. This is like a mood board for your hat. We'll use this to make sure we're on the same page about your hat's design.

  3. Designing and Building: We'll keep refining the design until it's just right. Then, I'll start making your hat. You can choose to add extra things like feathers or unique designs for an additional cost.

  4. Cost and Deposit: Custom hats start at $250. You'll need to pay $125 upfront, but remember, this deposit is non-refundable. You'll pay the rest when your hat is ready.

  5. Finishing Touches: All hats are finished in the USA with top-quality materials.

Not sure what you want yet? No worries! You can book a chat, call me at 267-804-1789, or email sac@suzetteartcouture.com. Can't wait to hear from you and start creating your dream hat.

Sizing & Fitting

HOW TO DETERMINE HEAD SIZE

Hat size is based on the circumference of the head. In order to determine your proper hat size, you must take a measurement of your head.

Using a tape measure, measure your head about one-half inch above your eyebrows where your hat will rest. Be certain that the tape measure is straight, not twisted. Alternatively, you can use piece of string to measure your head, and then measure the length of the string with a ruler. If you are not certain about size, or are between sizes, buy the larger size.

Use the chart below to determine your hat size based on the measurement you take.

Please understand that hats are like other apparel in that sizes can vary from one style to another. If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size.

CLEANING & CARE

1. How do I clean and care for my felt velour / beaver hat?

Remove dust and loose dirt with a soft brush, starting at the left side of the hat and brushing counter clockwise. A lint roll brush works too. If your hat gets wet, shake off the excess water. This will allow the hat to dry naturally.  If you follow these important instructions your hat will last a lifetime.

2. How do I clean and care for wool felt beret.

Beret is washable in lukewarm water, dry flat and light ironing.

3. How do I clean and care for my straw hat?

Remove dust and loose dirt with a soft brush, starting at the left side of the hat and brushing counter-clockwise. If you need to remove something sticky, we recommend a small wet cloth and dab with water. Do not expose the hat to heat and water. This can cause the material to shrink.
